  1. A little over halfway through chapter 8 now.  About to make a big reveal.  After that is a short time jump, and the first coda.  Then it's just the ending.  Looking like 9 chapters total.

This is a sex-lite story for the most part.  There are a few detailed scenes, ( and one that takes up most of chapter 7 ) but most of what's happening is transactional sex.  It's about whores, after all.  I'm pretty sure there will be no real sex scenes in 8 or 9.

  2. Well, in addition to One Whore's Town as Dark, I've also got a couple of RR stories that have been making progress.  One is a rare multi-chapter story that's up to ch. 3 already, recently picked back up.  Another partially finished one I've picked back up is nearing completion as well.

I'm mainly concentrating on OWT, but when I'm just not feeling that, I work on those two.

Crossing my fingers that I'll actually have something to post reasonably soon.

  3. 3k words into ch. 8.  The current scene is at a slow point as I navigate a difficult interaction.  About three to one musing vs. actually writing.  Once I get past this, it should be smooth sailing to the end.

Right now my boy is being too loud to think, so I'm going to wait until he chills.

  4. :: Cringes at the new software mucking up the formatting ::

Whelp, after so long of this forum being dormant and the website being skeletal remains, I doubt anyone is reading this, but...

I finally got some mojo going, and this has leapt from Ch. 6 at about 7k words to that chapter completed and Ch. 7 halfway done.  Not sure whether it's going to run 8 or nine chapters, but it's moving at a nice clip again.

I might finally get this one out of the WIP folder and out into the wild soon.

  5. When you actually have an idea.  The setup works.  It ticks a box. ( fills a Lush category I haven't hit yet )  You get the sex scene going, and it's hot.

Then you realize that neither character is remotely likeable or redeemable, and there's no really good way to end the damn thing.

    LOL

3k words, which is more than I've written in months, over the course of a few hours last night and then this morning...  And not a damn thing I can do with it.

  6. Yeah, I still got nothing.

I've been compiling tons of story starts, cover mock-ups, images to build cover mock-ups, yada, yada.  Can't manage to get any story moving beyond fits and starts, though.

I've peeked in on SOTM and finished a scene.  I wrote a couple of paragraphs of Gates of Enchantment.  I've done some tweaks to One Whore's Town.  I've fiddled with Queen of the Wood and Tangled Coils.  I've got two solid ideas for SOL exclusive stories in the Fey Folk series.  ( Trying to come up with something that won't play at Lit or Lush which still fits in with my personal sensibilities ain't easy )  One is much harder edge non-con on someone who probably deserves it.  The other is more of a reluctance/hypnosis type thing where a magical intervention leaves the 'victim' in a much better place after it's over.  The second is 16, so no Lit, where the non-con would work, while the non-con element I think is outside Lush's guidelines.  At the very least, it's outside of readership expectations.

That's assuming Lush ever gets it's shit together.

I have the tentative start of an SOL exclusive RR story as well.  Once again, reluctance with a 17 year old so it wouldn't play on either of the other sites.  I want to have exclusives for every name on every site.

I've got an aunt/nephew thing that was sort of working, but now feels a little cliche.  I've got a step father/daughter thing that is working, but I can't get in the right frame of mind to write the sex scene.  I've got a fun older man, younger woman story called Curl & Figure that is also stuck at the sex scene, because I can't get back into the unique voice of the lead-up narrative.

    What else...

Oh, yeah.  A nearly complete watersports story to fill that category on Lush.  Kind of lost my wind there once the site went all bonkers.  A few potential ideas for the new Facesitting category as well.  I think I've got one for Trans.  I've had the translucent bones of a story for their kind of weird Mind Control category as well.  That would only leave Novels and Novellas.  If I wanted to cheat, I could probably edit "It Cuts Both Ways", cut it into three chapters, and fill that one.  Prefer to write something original that doesn't fit well into any other genres, though.

A good chunk of a non-erotic story about a ghost who's trying to scare people out of his old apartment but everything he does gets blamed on their cats. ( In the same universe as "Ghost of a Chance" )

"From the Hartwell" which is the next story in the Celes quintet is actually started on "paper".  With the website down, that one's kind of in Limbo.  A couple of Halloween stories that just needed tweaks and finished.  That damn older/younger lesbian story that's been kicking around for Valentine's for over a decade.

One of the most recent starts is a story for Fey Folk moving on to the bigger fey.  The elves of that universe are closer to the traditional kind — about 2 feet tall.  Leprechauns, Gnomes, and Dwarves are the final scales going up, topping out at probably 3.5 feet.  One of my other starts mentioned earlier goes the opposite direction to critters less than an inch tall.

Plenty of ideas, but the words just won't come.

  7. Well, I found at least one of the major changes I need to make in the documentation, but I can't get in the correct frame of mind to wrap my head around the differences in the code structure.  Puzzling out this one difference would allow me to put most of the public side of the website back online.  If I figure out how the member data is stored in the new version, I can essentially put all of my old public pages back up the way they were.  ( Sans the newsletter, which was a nightmare to code, and kind of outdated with all the update options available now )

Then, I need to puzzle out another element in order to get my backend working.

I just can't find the focus to do any of it right now.  Same for writing.  My muse is completely offline right now.  It's probably from the months of 14+ hour days at work.  I start my end of the year days off as of now, but I doubt that's going to bump my productivity.  It didn't last year, and I wasn't even recovering from months of long hour hell then.  With the boy not being in school, I simply don't have the quiet time I did a couple of years ago.  I get enough sleep to recover, but the environment once I wake up is not conductive to thinking about anything.

I'll keep peeking in on it ( and stories in progress ) every so often to see if I get a spark, but for now, I'm just kind of leveling up on Steam playing RPGs.

  8. About to go to bed, so I'm not going to switch IDs, but thanks so much :)  On vacation next week, so maybe I'll make some more progress.  I've got a bonus week of vacation this year, so an extra seven days of trying to catch up enough on my sleep to write deeper, more involved things.

  9. Well, that technique I used on the first one keeps on working.  Did a few more.  Not all of these are BW/Sepia to color conversions, but they're all mods to make the originals suitable cover images eventually.

ETA: I damn near forgot I'd actually used that first one for Betty on one of the chapter images for "One Whore's Town".  It will be a small image, so I'm not opposed to using it later in a full cover, though.

  10. Nothing written yet, but I'm starting to get some sparks of creativity again.  I went digging through a folder of free for non-commercial use images I downloaded off an art website EONS ago and started tinkering with some of the more promising ones.  They're all too small as is, so I'm going about resizing, cleaning up, and placing them on my standard cover image size templates.

I'm particularly proud of this one:

Best colorizing of a black and white image I've ever done.  Really happy with it, and it should eventually make a nice cover for a story.  Might save it for a Dark/Les story, because that's what I use most of these images for, and I hate to use anything that doesn't have modern clothing for a story set in the real world.

    ====================================

Randy smiled as he finished meticulously cleaning the second of the completely intact antique medicine bottles he’d found while walking along the edge of the old canal on Christmas day. Having a day warm enough to take the walk and excavate them from the bank was a gift, as far as he was concerned.

The shriveled bit of remaining cork in the bottom of the second bottle was the bow on top.

Divorced, and with no living family still in the area, the unseasonably warm days providing a chance to escape the onslaught of syrupy holiday cheer had been more than worth it as well. At least with Christmas finally over and done, he wouldn’t have to deal with it every time he turned on his television. Even the barrage of campaign ads that would only get worse for the rest of the year was better than that.

All that remained was to carefully dry the bottles, set them up against a good backdrop, and take pictures for the collectors’ group before determining their permanent home on his shelf.

He barely got started on that before the phone rang. He almost ignored it, because it was most likely a political survey, a telemarketer, or someone looking for a donation. Work had no reason to call him while they were on holiday shut down, and anyone he cared to talk to would have called on his cell. When it rang a third time, he made the effort to cross the room and check the caller I.D.

When he saw his landlord’s name, he picked up the phone. “Hello?â€

“Have you seen the next door neighbors by any chance?â€

“Not today, but I haven’t really been out.â€

“Do you think you could walk over there and have them call me? I’m not getting an answer from the number I have, and they still owe me fifty on the rent.â€

Randy’s brow furrowed. Even with as tedious and borderline pointless as his life had been for the last few years, he could sympathize with someone who was far worse off. The two girls living in the trailer next door were sisters. They had lost their mother when they were little, and their father had kicked the oldest one out for getting pregnant. The youngest had left home and moved in with her sister the day she turned eighteen earlier that year.

Two girls trying to raise a baby on cashier wages had to be a struggle. They frequently asked to use his phone when theirs had no minutes left, and he mowed their lawn for them, because they had no way to do it. He knew their one car had been broken down for a couple of days earlier that week, which surely hadn’t helped matters at all.

“Their phone is probably out of minutes,†he explained to the landlord. “Their car was broke down, so they’re probably behind, too. You know what, it’s only fifty bucks. I’ll take care of it for them this time.â€

    “You sure?â€

“Yeah. They’ve had a hard enough time this month. I’ll send it as soon as I get off here. Don’t tell them I paid it.â€

“Well, okay. Thank you, and happy new year.â€

    “You too.â€

Randy ended the call, opened the app, and transferred the fifty from his account. He wasn’t hurting for money, thanks to staying in the run down trailer, even though he could afford better after a couple of years of solid raises. Anywhere was as good as anywhere else as far as he was concerned, and it was cheap.

That done, he returned to his bottles.

    ****

A knock on the door surprised him a few hours later. He hadn’t been the only one to take advantage of the warm days leading up to Christmas, or the only one to get lucky with new finds. He’d completely lost track of time looking through the new pictures, and chatting about the two additions to his collection. It had managed to get dark while he was distracted – not that it took long for that to happen in December.

When he answered the door, he saw that it was the younger of the two sisters – Emma. The pretty little blonde was so petite that he was always surprised that she didn’t blow off the steps in the breeze.

“Mind if I come in?†she asked.

The warm streak had died out, so he moved aside to let her in out of the cold. “Come on in.†He closed the door and asked, “Need something?â€

“Actually, I was wondering... Did you pay the rest of our rent?â€

Randy clenched his teeth for a moment and grunted. “I asked him not to tell you.â€

“He didn’t. We borrowed a phone and called to let him know we’d have it next week, but he said it was already paid. We couldn’t think of anyone else it might be.â€

He nodded in acknowledgment and said, “Well, consider it a late Christmas present.â€

Her beaming smile made her look even more beautiful. “Thank you so much. You don’t know how much that will help.â€

“You’re welcome. You two just take care of yourself and the baby. I’d rather have you girls over there than whatever loud idiots would probably move in if you moved out.â€

She let out a brief, silvery laugh at that, and then said, “I want to do something for you.â€

  13. It's been approximately a year since the last tracking update, so here it is.

    http://www.darkniciad.com/hotlink_pics/all_3_names_12_19.htm

After a year, across all 3 pen names, I'm up by 14,002 votes, 1,177,852 views, 177 PCs, 1573 Favs, and 75,265 words on Lit.

I also caught a cut-and-paste error in last year's track where I used the same botched formula for all the averages/medians on the Combined section, so I corrected that while doing the one for this year.

If you extrapolate that out and compare it to the two and a half years between the previous two tracks ( I apparently couldn't do math when I posted that last one... LOL  May 2016 -> May 2017 -> May 2018 -> Dec. 2018 That's over 2 1/2 not almost 2, dumbass... ) then I'm doing pretty well.  Up across pretty much all metrics, even after I didn't put anything new out for several months.

Granted, there was a period of a full year where I didn't write shit in the previous track, but that then comes out about even as well with the time off I took this year.

Decided to lose the total wordcount thing because it was getting too difficult to track what was exclusive on one site or another thanks to me creating anthologies on Lit of stories that were originally Lush exclusives.

On that note, I really need to put up an exclusive story from Les and RR on SOL, because I like to have exclusives on every site I post on.  Lush is pretty easy, because there's only one pen name to contend with, and really short stuff does well there, where it does bumpkis on Lit and SOL.  Even when I make anthologies for Lit, there's always some Lush exclusive stuff left that won't fit in a collection.  "Rear Ended" right now, for example.  Until I come up with another Anal story to pair with it, it will be exclusive.

For Les, I'm thinking a long Loving Wives type story would be the right choice.  It wouldn't do jack at Lush, because long stories suffer, drama doesn't do all that well, and minimal sex would hurt it as well.  On Lit...  It's a bloody shark tank that's not worth wading into.  Those type of stories can thrive on SOL.

For RR...  I'm sort of at a loss.  There are a lot of subjects you can write on SOL that you can't write anywhere else, but I'm not particularly fond of the subject matter.  True Noncon and Bestiality aren't exactly on my "to do" list.  I'm thinking I'm going to have to go with a character who is just under the 16 limit of Lush, because any lower than that give me the willies.  Probably a guy, too.  Double standard or not, that doesn't feel as creepy, and it's going to have a better reception because of that.

Anyway, there's the stats.  I'm off to finish a couple of holiday stories, and then jump back into Danica's world, since I'm feeling that.  ( I'm writing on Gates of Enchantement, One Whore's Town, and making some tweaks to the next chapter of SOTM whenever I'm not feeling any of the new RR stories )

  14. Dangerous_Redhead reached out to me about reading some of my stories on Pornhub, and Part 1 of "Nailed" is the first release.  Suffice to say, she's not just reading LOL  The presentation is quite stimulating as she stimulates herself during the reading for your viewing pleasure.

  15. Since that last update, I've made it up to 16 Famous stories on Lush.  The next one in line is "Quite Neighborly" and will probably hit somewhere around June/July/August.  Perhaps a little faster if I start putting out new stories again.

Nude Holly Day is steadily creeping toward Legendary as well.  A good distance behind it, but progressing as well, is Dip in the Lake.  A couple of others are even farther back, but a good distance over 30k.

Neighborly is the only one likely to cross the line this year, so I'll leave a link for it here:

    https://www.lushstories.com/stories/swingers/quite-neighborly.aspx

The others won't start hitting until 2020, barring a dramatic change in their view advancement.

  16. Sherry is only about 70 views away from reaching Famous on Lush.  At the current clip, that could be less than a week.

I've officially covered every letter as a title start across all of my pen names with the release of "Yule Snow".  That story also completes the goal on Lush.  It dropped my remaining letters on Lit down to 2, keeping it even with SOL.

Added a new category on both Lit and Lush with "To the Rescue" which is doing surprisingly well, considering it was a total experiment.  I'll be breaking another new category soon with "Weight of It", which is a GM story.  Again, an experiment.  We'll see what happens with the larger GM readership.

Mulling over an exclusive SOL story to make up for all the stuff that hasn't posted there.  Really short stories or anthologies of same just don't seem to fit the standard there to me.  I think an exclusive story should cover the loss of other work nicely.  Ideally, it should be something that couldn't really post on the other sites, or which wouldn't do particularly well there.

Hitting the teen angle would eliminate Lit as a possibility.  If it was non-con, that would eliminate Lush, where the sixteen would fly, but I don't really feel like writing that.  So, I'm thinking about a longer story with a younger protagonist for the SOL exclusive.  Anything over 10k words suffers horribly at Lush, while longer stories do even better at SOL.  Seems a perfect fit.

Just need to figure out who the characters are, and what the story is about LOL

Had a uniform story well underway, but it petered out on me.  I was in the sex scene, and I just wasn't feeling it.  I think I'll eventually keep the opening, but move the sex scene to the private charter plane of the two pilots.  That should provide some interesting logistics to keep me engaged.  In the hanger, not mile high.  The setup eliminates the possibility of actually taking the plane up.  Plus, I want to do a threesome DP story, and that's hard to do when somebody has to fly the plane.

Still have Jessica's Rabbit Hole on my mind.  Mulling over some possible Valentine's stories for the contest at Lit as well.

Just thought I'd rattle off a few things.

Go give Sherry a read at Lush to help push it over the top, letting me celebrate my #13 famous story. :)
