It has come to my attention that a member of a BDSM site called fetlife has been posting stories by Literotica authors including myself and silkstockingslover and claiming them as his own.
He has also claimed that all the names were his pen names in a pitiful attempt to cover up his plagiarism.
I just wanted to put a post out there to say that this guy is a liar and a thief, because he continues to indignantly claim the work of authors even after being called out and having all of the stolen stories deleted at that website.
Members of the website wishing to counter those lies may feel free to link to this post.
I am not, and have never been Dallas54. There’s a reason I have a “My Stories” page that links to everywhere I’ve posted my stories. Anywhere else you find my work ( whatever the thief changes the titles to ) is posted without my permission by a hack with no talent and fewer scruples.
Now, back to writing!
Thanks for that; much appreciated.
Glad to do it!
Unfortunately, being the biggest erotica site on the internet, Literotica is a clearinghouse for thieves of all stripes. Authors there have to regularly send takedown notices to all manner of free sites, and even to places like Amazon where our work is being sold as e-books.
It’s just the price you have to pay for the biggest erotica readership on the internet.
Anyone reading this and suspicious of someone’s “work” that seems to not mesh up from story to story would do well to do exactly what silvian did:
Take an early line in the story ( something without place or character names is best ) and search for it in Google with the entire line enclosed in quote marks. That searches for that *exact* phrase, and will most often turn it up anywhere it is posted.
Click through the links ( being aware of your internet security! Erotica especially can appear on some sites that are very dangerous for your computer! ) and if you see enough evidence to support possible plagiarism, contact the authors through the profile on the site.
If an author doesn’t know he or she is being stolen from, they can’t do anything about it.
Plus, if you liked the story in the first place, you might very well find more of the author’s work to read where it was posted with their permission.
This dallas individual had a bunch of stolen photo content removed from his photo collection on the site. It is not surprising that he also stole the writings. What is funny is how belligerent and outraged he acted when the websites moderators pulled his stolen works down and he tried to play it off that they were all done under his pseudonyms. .
Once a thief, always a thief.
