Positively Pawnographic

I finally finished a new story and it’s live on Literotica and Storiesonline.

Go give “Pawnographic” a read and a vote at the site of your choice!

( Because it exceeds Lush’s single-submission length and I don’t want to chop it into two parts, it won’t be posting there )

Nude Day story in progress

Dug the start of a story out of my “Next Year” folder and it was singing to me, so I picked it back up for this year’s Nude Day contest at Lit.

I’m already into the sex, so it shouldn’t be too long before it’s finished.  Dipping back into the MILF well again with this tale.

Vicki will go into the queue at Lit today for an expected Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning release, and I’ll get it in the queue at SOL to hopefully release at the same general time.

Still have “A Fine Substitute” sitting at the beginning of the sex, waiting for me to pick it back up as well.  The two contest stories took priority when I had to take a break from my Magic of the Wood story as Les.

Had another flash of inspiration, so I have an outline for another story built up and ready to roll as well.  Should be at least a couple coming soon to all three sites.

“Incredible” news.

First, apologies for not posting the Lit and SOL links here on my blog, Twitter, or Facebook.  I don’t have any real excuse other than laziness.  You can find them linked on those sites from the website, either on the Latest Releases or My Stories pages.

As to the news, it’s doing well in the contest at Lush.  More comments than the bulk of the stories in the contest, a solid vote total ( at least if my timeline count is correct, since actual vote totals aren’t shown while a contest is running ) and better than average view numbers.

Of course, that doesn’t mean jack with respect to placing in the contest.  The only thing the reader voting counts toward is the 10 votes to qualify.  Everything else is up to a panel of judges.

At Lit, it’s my third story outside a contest to break the 1000 vote mark.  It’s pulled in over 40 story favorites, quite a few ( rare, nowadays ) public comments, and a few emails.  It has solid view numbers, and a better than 2% vote to view ratio, which is great for Lit.  Holding a 4.67 score as well, which is nice.

The author favorites coming in after posting this story have also pushed me over the bar into the top 200 all-time favorite authors on Lit, and still climbing.

On SOL, it has a solid score, and has garnered a couple of emails ( also somewhat of a rare thing ) The big things there are that it picked up a glowing review on the site, and climbed all the way to #3 on the weekly downloads list.  On a site with such a bias toward epics, having a short story pull in those kind of download numbers tickles me.

Even before all that good news started coming in, I was working on follow-ups, though.  I don’t usually do that in this pen name, but these characters were still talking to me, and doing so loudly, so I’m writing it down.  I’m probably three quarters through a Ch. 2, with at least a Ch. 3 to come.

There’s even a possibility of a website exclusive, non-canon addition of it that fulfills a request I seem to get every time I write one of these stories with these character archetypes.  We’ll see about that.  All of the stories on my “Hot Shorts” page so far are unconnected one-shots, and I’d always intended to post continuations of stories there for readers who visit the website.

Anyway, that’s all the news for now.

“Clone” in the queue at Lit

I just put “Send in the Clone” in the queue at Literotica.  There’s been a two-day lag in posting for quite some time now, so I expect it to go live there on Wednesday.  With that in mind, I’ll submit it to Storiesonline on Tuesday night.

If the Lit posting goes up earlier, or gets marked for an earlier posting ( sometimes stories are pre-approved ) I’ll adjust my SOL submission accordingly.

This was written for a contest at Lush, but I think I may stop entering there.  Most of the recent entries haven’t even managed to qualify.  I tend to get exactly 9 votes, which is one short.

I’ve really seen no benefit of entering the contests there.  It doesn’t increase readership the way the Lit contests do.  If anything, it seems to keep people from voting because they’re participating in the contest, or a moderator charged with narrowing down the field, etc.

It’s getting to the point where posting there at all isn’t worth the effort.  Even a good showing is less than 30 votes now that they’ve disabled anonymous voting, and anonymous comments have never been allowed.  So, I’m getting very little feedback there.

The overall readership has plummeted since they got rid of the incest category as well.  On the day they abolished the category, they had an Alexa world rank of 5362.  Today, that rank has nosedived to to 8121, and is on the verge of dropping below ASSTR again.

If conditions don’t improve, I may not bother with Lush any longer.  The submission form is annoying to me because it won’t recognize my italics from Wordperfect, forcing me to go through and manually put them into every story.  I do that for Lit as well by adding the tags, but I can do that in the document before submission.  I have to do it in the submission window at Lush.

I’m also not getting any referral traffic from Lush.  I’ve always had constant referrals from Lit, SOL, and even Lit’s forum, but lately, Lush isn’t even showing up on the radar.  Even Facebook and Twitter send more eyes to my site than Lush, and I don’t really post or tweet there that often.

The effort vs. reward is rapidly deteriorating.  As it stands right now, if I do decide to drop Lush, I’ll probably leave everything up there and simply stop posting new stories.  There have been some troubling things coming from management/moderation in the past, though.  If something like that comes up again after I’ve decided to drop them, that could prompt me to wipe out my work there.

If that happens, all the stories will still be available either on my website, or at Lit and SOL.

Locating stories on Literotica

Literotica started adding more stories per day to the site, in order to bring down the long lag between submission and posting.  The bad thing is that the new story list has become bloated, with brand new stories ending up on page 2.  Even page 1 could make your eyes go crossed if you’re trying to find a specific author or category.

At the same time, they’ve expanded the individual category hubs.  Stories stay on the hubs longer, and they’re more targeted, so your best bet is to leave the main New Stories list behind, and start focusing on the hubs.
